Day 3, Post-Op Swedish Twins Blues: Saturday, September 17th!

I never lose sight of the fact that just being is fun. -Katharine Hepburn, actress (1907-2003)

Another sound sleep and although I'd taken the last three remaining pills from hospital, I didn't take any of the ones from prescription ChloĆ« had had filled at Shopper's on Friday evening. Again, no need to do so and that has continued to  be the case ever since. ChloĆ« left for Vancouver around 10:00 am and we then enjoyed a delish Frittata, [with remainder of asparagus from last night's appetizer, Prosciutto wrapped stalks.], courtesy of Lady Dar. Gang walked down to Farmer's Market but I stayed at home to start my bed and standing exercises. Napped on and off all afternoon while the three went wine-tasting. They were back around 5:00 pm and Lady Dar helped me shampoo my hair before I gave myself a good scrubbing. Have a chair for shower so not difficult. Just had to be quite careful not to get my dressing wet although it is supposed to be water-proof. Felt pretty good once finished as last shower was on Wednesday morning before surgery.

The Swedish Twins, Patrizzio and Vittorio, along with Jessica, latter's girlfriend, arrived for dinner around 6:30 pm. All three were in Naramata for a wedding on Sunday so things worked out well. Had a simply marvellous time over dinner, (Lady Dar's bbq'd salmon, rice with pine nuts and Parmesano flakes, and Catherine's heritage toamtoe salad; Elaine's crumptious apple pie for dessert. She made seven last Friday and gave one to Cora Lee before she left their place!], with plenty of drinks: wine Akavavit and malt! Hadn't seen Patrizzio for more than a year as he has been living in Oslo, working as a chef and studying for a business degree. Even managed to stay up longer than Glasgow and Catherine before it was time for youngsters to head to their place on Naramata road, a lovely rental house, apparently, across the road from Bench 1775 Winery where wedding and reception were to take place.

Great photos Patrick! By now you are well into post surgery recovery. I hope that it is going well. Pam Are you home? Feeling good? Af & Lee want a grudge match tomorrow at the usual time! Grog

Happy Autumnal Equinox, everybody! The hike was a bit on a wet side, but nice nevertheless. (At least so everybody claimed.) Al:
