Hi Beach Person! Trust all is going well with you and Flamin' and family. Have you seen Lurch and Grogg? Please say hello.Grand that you are going to be part of malt venture. Lady Dar collected  your Poplar Grove shipment yesterday so we thought we'd use it at our Open House on December 10th. At least part of you will be here!

Must away as I
have to run a number of errands before I head out to Community Centre for my first React pool/physio session. Fondestos from Lady Dar, readying herself for the last coat of paint on the hallway. Continue to enjoy your time in Paradise. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: SP label for our malt.

Come out to celebrate the festive season at Pat and Corinne's with some Christmas cheer and holiday fare. When: December 10th anytime after 5 pm.
Looking forward to seeing you!Hello Lady Dar! First draft! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Busy here. Really enjoyed Our Little Sister, (Japanese: 海街diary Hepburn: Umimachi Diary, lit. "Seaside town diary"), this afternoon, part of PAG's Kitchen Stove, (I prefer "Kitchen Sink"!), series:

There are three sisters: 29-year-old Sachi Kouda (Haruka Ayase), 22-year-old Yoshino Kouda (Masami Nagasawa) and 19-year-old Chika Kouda (Kaho). They live in the house of their grandparents in Kamakura, where they grew up after their parents had separated and left them. One day, they receive news of the death of their father whom they haven't seen in 15 years. At the funeral, they meet their 14 year old half-sister Suzu Asano (Suzu Hirose). As there is nobody to take care of her the oldest sister Sachi invites her to live with them.

A marvelously understated, poignant family drama, made more forceful for us, as we spent time in quite similar towns/villages when in Japan, in 2012. A very gentle, quiet insight into the Japanese culture and psyche. No violence or sex or drugs and rock 'n roll, just genuine human emotions under difficult, trying situations. The remarkable beauty and solace that nature, (cherry blossoms, sand at the seaside, mountain views), offers and the simple pleasures of preparing and sharing meals, or picking plums from a tree in the garden, then making wine from the fruit, showcase everyday life for the treasure it is if we can allow ourselves to see and allow its wonder to wash over us.

Had my first React session today and was very impressed with organization, helpful volunteers and professional staff. The nurse who took a few medical details mentioned that her husband had seen Clive Duncan, my surgeon, 17 years ago and would probably need to see him again for the other hip. I really liked walking in the deep end with a flotation device so plan to focus on that particular exercise. Rest are similar to what I do at home, but with more help and/or resistance from water, of course. Enjoyed the steam room and hot tub afterwards. Plan to take my googles after I've completed a few more sessions and will start swimming again. Have missed this activity as I was swimming regularly before I started doing as much road biking.

I emailed you awhile back saying that  we should meet for coffee sometime around mid November which has now arrived……I was thinking tomorrow Friday Nov 18th in the morning would work as I have to go to Penticton on some minor business. How does that work for you Patrick? I could pick you up and we could go out for coffee and catch up a bit……if tomorrow does not work then perhaps another day as I do venture to Penticton about 1-2 times per week. Let me know your thoughts OK………Kilian

Hi St Killian! Sorry I've haven't replied sooner but I didn't look at my messages until a minute or so ago. We went to see a film in the PAG's Kitchen Stove series last night and were busy, making dinner and watching a new detective series, all evening. I'd be delighted to have a mug of java with you but why not just stay here and we can catch-up? Furthermore, Etta and Duke are quite curious about any Summerlanders and want to check you out!  At any rate, let me know what you think, time, etc. I'm free all day except when riding the stationary bike. Look forward o seeing you, one way or another. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic: Duke and Etta this evening!

Next Monday we are going to try Carmi again. We will hike along that trail along the edge of Ellis canyon and end up on the Carmi trails. Tony will make sure we don't get lost in the trails! There might be snow.... So we will meet at 9am at Home Hardware in Penticton and Summerlanders can carpool at 8:40 am at the IGA parking lot. Pam
