Day 54, Post-Op Guillermo's Lumber Yard Blues: Thursday, November 10th!

As freely as the firmament embraces the world, / or the sun pours forth impartially his beams, / so mercy must encircle both friend and foe. -Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller, poet and dramatist (10 Nov 1759-1805)

Patrick and Corinne, Thank you for hosting bridge last night. My apologies for not being with it last night:( Enjoy your visit with Chloe. Pam ps Patrick there is wood to be had at Littlejohn Rd. I am just checking with Bill which pile of wood you should pull from. Once I know I will be in touch. When do you have Bill’s truck?

Hi Pamela! Loads of fun last night so glad you could be part of it. However, upon reviewing your "reneges" the Bridge Director, [Lady Dar is not as nice as she appears to be!], has ruled that you must return your bridge prizes, along with a case of wine, from The Bench, as fine! It is felt that this penalty will help you focus on your play! Tough bridge love from Burns Street Mean Streets!!! Guillermo said that he is available over the next few days/weekend, so whenever suits you folk, let us know, and we'll plan accordingly.

Chloë's plane was right on time so we were home shortly after midnight. Etta and Duke put on a Sumo wrestling match for her so we were entertained for half an hour until they wore themselves out. Chat soon. Cheers, Patrizzio, Waiting Thirstily for the Mulct!

Hello from New Jersey  We arrived in Princeton on Monday, and after checking into our hotel, took a brief look around. Tuesday was a nice sunny day, so we wandered around the campus Very impressive - many of the colleges and other buildings are done in a Gothic style - reminds one of Oxford. For example, the University Chapel. The old one was destroyed by fire in 1920, so they built a new one based on a 14th century English Gothic style. It was finished in 1928. No fraternities here - they have "eating clubs" instead - the clubs are not residences, just exclusive dining halls. Anyways, when it got dark, we headed back to the hotel to watch the election.

Wednesday was a bit rainy and gloomy (appropriately). Eric drove us the the Princeton Institute for Advanced Studies (Einstein's old hangout) where we had lunch. Very peaceful setting for people doing major thinking. After a bit of a tour through Princeton, Eric dropped us back at the hotel. In the evening we met Eric at the old Graduate College to go for supper in their magnificent dining hall. This college is where Eric stayed before going to Oxford. The hall was very much like the one we ate breakfast in at Magdalen College in Oxford, only larger. After supper we went back to Eric's new digs on Hibben Magie Road, where Eric treated us to a scotch tasting. Then it was back to the hotel and to bed.

Today - Thursday, is nice an sunny. Jo-Anne had a meeting with a librarian at Princeton, so I wandered around the town. We met at the chapel at 12:30 for a pipe organ recital, and then went back to exploring the buildings on campus. Tonight we will meet Eric for supper and a wine tasting. Tomorrow we are off to NYC, where we will overnight, and the it is back to Vancouver. -Colin

Thanks for this. Make sure you follow doctors orders. Glad progress is being made. Hope to see you soon. Hi Glasgow! With respect to doc's orders, I'm following them to the letter, don't worry. 45 minutes on stationary bike, very little if any resistance, watching Vinyl! Putting the pressure on my elbow, however!

Lazed around today, while Lady Dar and Chloë were picking up baking goods for start of Christmas shortbread and snowballs, spending a fair bit of time planing down the cabinet door of large piece of furniture we have in Rumpus Room. Needed to borrow the tool from Stormin' Norman, neighbor across back lane. Doors have not closed, ever, even when it was owned by Clara and Dusty, (We inherited it and more than pleased we did.], so finally managed to give it the attention it deserved.

For dinner, Chloë has prepared a wonderful red lentil/potatoe/red pepper/carrot/leak/stewed, diced tomatoe ragout, inter-layered with Asiago. It is just broiling now so I need to open a bottle of red, in anticipation of feast to come! Must say, we enjoyed the delicious fare, watching the first few episodes of The Crown. Quite liked it. Fondestos from The Icing Sugar Dusted Sisterhood to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Dear Patrick Dunn, Christina Tassell has bought you a Jacquie Lawson Seaside Advent Calendar! Enjoy 25 days of seasonal fun in an English seaside town. Every day there's a new game or puzzle, or one of our trademark animated stories of people and pets – and much more besides. You can enjoy your Seaside Advent Calendar on your desktop computer or on an iPad.

Hi Teens! What a lovely present! Thank you so much!!! Trust you are both well. Still plugging away on stationary bike, 45 minutes yesterday! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Tummy warmers!

Whisky Cask Futures now available! Hi Jugos! Any interest? Cheers, Patrizzio!

Before the distillery opened a rare opportunity was presented privately to initial supporters of the Dubh Glas Distillery; Cask Futures of single-malt whisky. It was so popular we had to stop selling them this spring so that we could catch up on our production and meet the needs of our existing clients. With increased staff and production, we are happy to announce the Cask Futures program is now available to the public, offering you a rare opportunity to be part of Canadian single-malt whisky history and being part of the future in The Dubh Glas Distillery.

Cask Futures are being sold for $2288 for small cask portions. A small cask portion (44 bottles) is not the whole cask, it is essentially only a portion of the cask. In fact, the distillery itself owns the remainder and we have a vested interest in ensuring that you will be getting a quality product upon maturation in three years or more. A single-malt whisky for personal use, corporate gift or your whisky club for as little as only $52/bottle. Futures orders are now being taken and scheduled for distillation starting early 2017! If you would like to be part of this rare opportunity please email us and we'll send you a contract and more information.

Hi Noteworthy Man! I'm interested in your Cask Futures program and being part of Canadian whisky distilling history. Please forward more information. Cheers, Patrizzio!
