Day 49, Post-Op Christmas Craft Fair Blues: Saturday, November 5th!

The soul is healed by being with children. -Fyodor Dostoyevsky, novelist (1821-1881)

Hi Flamin' and Sarge! Thank you for the lovely stay, if only that it was too, too brief! Glad you enjoyed the flowers as I thought I'd start you getting ready for your Hawaii holiday! Must away as we are off to the Christmas Far at the Convention Centre this morning and then need to run a number of errands to get ready for the a pot-luck dinner with Dick Cannings, our MP, this evening. Lady Dar sends her fondestos to you both and says she misses you two more than you miss us! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Busy day today as we spent a most enjoyable few hours at the Christmas Fair, held at the Convention Centre. Managed to pick up a variety of gifts and stocking stuffers as well as sample quite a tasty variety of local sausage, cheese and sweets. That evening we attended a pot-luck for Richard Cannings, our MP. Event was held in the Common Room of the large condo complex just past the Penticton Art Gallery. Nice set-up so a very comfortable facility for such a gathering. Array of food was really very impressive and we took along a bottle of Tinhorn Creek white so dinner was a feast.

Richard spoke about his first year in Ottawa and provided a most interesting perspective about on-going political developments. As well, two potential candidates for the BC NDP nomination meeting, Toni Boot and Tarik Sayeed, the winner to run in the provincial election, next May, spoke briefly. Both of us were impressed with the calibre of their credentials and presence. Know Dick reasonably well as Cora Lee volunteered for him when we first arrived and we've seen him since them at numerous Farmers' Markets and other community events.

Saw him at the Christmas Fair and he had ridden there. Earlier this summer he arranged a group cycling tour of his constituency, over a week or so, and invited anyone who wanted to join to come along. A support vehicle was involved as some of the distances are considerable. Worked out very well, from reports I heard. He is extremely open and approachable so very pleased that he represents us.
Unfortunately, Liberal's opposition and back-tracking to/on so many of their platform promises is quite disturbing and, frankly speaking, depressing, in terms of actually seeing much needed legislation passed in order to bring about substantive change from the environment to indigenous affairs to health care to electoral reform. On and on and on! Anyway, a most informative evening so very pleased that we attended. Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! Christmas Fair, butcher-block on wheels! Hip Hop Here's some music and dance moves to help test out your new titanium hiphttps://youtu.be/8iGz1VzgDGM

Hi Hip Hop Hippster! Thanks for the dance music therapy! Much appreciated. I am delighted to show my moves on the floor instead of on the stationary bike! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Greetings from Waikiki. A perfect week with big walks, swims, and lovely trade winds. Superb weather, and heard some fabulous bands by the ocean at sunsets. Just at airport now waiting for flight to Maui for 3 weeks, and then a week on Kauai. Clan SUTHERLAND invading soon, so locals beware! Also will see Peter Cook, as well as Dan & Una later in the month. Many other familiar faces as they return each year at the same time. Aunt Trudy turns 90 today, so will call her- many fond memories with Mom & Trudy here when they could make the trip.

See you soon- maybe on the Island. We hope to do a winter road/ski trip in late January and should connect with Trevor at Sun Peaks for a couple of days. We might get your way as well, have not finalized the route yet. Give the cats an extra pet from us...Cheers G& F Hi Island Hoppers! Sounds as if you are having a truly wonderful time! Please say hello to Peter and Carolyn, as well as Dangerous Dan and The Uni Bomber. Sent a message to TNT and mentioned we would try to make a visit to Sun Peaks when you are there. Cheers, Patrizzio!
