On-Going Garden Hose Hook-Up Blues: Tuesday, April 12th!

All religions united with government are more or less inimical to liberty. All, separated from government, are compatible with liberty. -Henry Clay, statesman and orator (12 Apr 1777-1852)

FYI: here is the link to Emma's business website: http://sipsavvy.ca/ Just in case you or people you know are planning any events in the coming months. Clients can tailor the services from ideas for food and wine pairing, to specialty choices, or simply just best bang for your buck. Happy spring! Maret
Hi Maret/Mavis/Garth! Trust everyone is well. Great news about Emma's entrepreneurial venture! Hope she does exceedingly well. Please pass along congratulations to her.

We will be driving to Manitoba, probably leaving in time to put us at Falcon around June 16th, for two weeks or so. We have a spate of visitors scheduled for much of the summer and first, former Swiss boarder, is to arrive at the beginning of July so we need to be back by the end of June, at the latest. Ayn is flying up from Tinsel Town to celebrate her grandparent's 71st wedding anniversary so should be fun. It would be lovely if we had a chance to see you, Mavis and Garth, when we are at Falcon. Are you usually at the lake on the weekend? Anyway, if you have a moment, let us know and we'll plan accordingly.

Must away as Lady Darjeeling, (Cora Lee's nickname since our trip to Inja this past October-December.), is at an evening knitting class and I'm in charge of dinner. We will have a late meal and continue watching Season II of Happy Valley. Do you know the series? Set in in West Yorkshire so we use subtitles to catch dialogue! I am reasonably familiar with some of the towns where the murders have taken place, (Elland, Halifax), as a former girlfriend was from Brighouse, a tiny village near Elland, and we stayed with her sister and family, in Elland, in '69 and '71, visiting Huddersfield and Leeds as well. Fondestos from Knit One Purl One Woman, in absentia! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Lady Dar enjoying our new louvered roof, over much of back patio; warming my tootsies around fire-pit!

After I hooked up the garden hose at the front of the house and then changed the coupling on the one at the back that had been leaking, (Finally seem to have a watertight seal!), spent a goodly part of the afternoon cleaning out the eaves-troughs. Job wasn't as messy or as difficult as I thought it might well be. Almost took as much time to clean up sidewalk on north side of house than it did to remove leaves and other matter from troughs. I had a pail, hooked over the top of the ladder, that I put most of the material in but wind was quite strong and blew stuff everywhere! What with the removal of the trees from next door and the heavy pruning of the Acacia in Gary's/Amanda's yard, I expect there will not be as much to do this Fall. At least I hope so!

It Is Called “The Point Of A Hundred Diseases”- Here Is What Will Happen If You Massage It Every Day! Hi Arv! I prefer to have Lady Dar massage The Point of a Hundred Pleasures! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Left Folgosa yesterday morning after a leisurely breakfast overlooking the Douro River, and drove to Pinhao, heart of the Douro. Headed back towards Peso da Regua to get on the road to Coimbra. The road headed over the mountains, and we climbed to nearly 1000 metres, high enough that there was snow alongside the road. On arrival at Coimbra, we explored the old town, and then had a nice walk along the river. The old university here is truly an ivory tower institution - it's cream coloured buildings are on top of the hill. Today we headed to Sintra, where we explored the Pena Palace and the ruins of the old Moorish castle. Tomorrow - back to Lisbon. Colin

Hi Douro People! I gather you are back in Lisbon. What a life!!! Fondestos from Mme Coriandre, fussing about gathering all her receipts and T-slips for income tax. We plan to start on filing process once papers are found and sorted! Cheers, Patrizzio, Desperately Seeking Tax Shelter in an Offshore Account!
