Chimmney Sweep Blues; Saturday, February 13th!

Politeness is to human nature what warmth is to wax. -Arthur Schopenhauer, philosopher (1788-1860)

Hello Traveland RV: If Daniel is an employee at Traveland, please pass along the attached pictures. My friends and I happened to meet him a few weeks ago but I lost his personal email address. I thought that he mentioned that he worked in Sales for your company. If not, I apologize, in advance, for the error. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Somehow I lost your last email with hiking information. could you send it again please. Larry Hi Larry! Is this the message you wanted? Cheers, Patrizzio!  Thanks Yes

Hello Champagne Charlie and O Susannah! Trust you are both well. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrizio! Thanks for the updates. Believe it or not we’re starting to miss you and the lovely lady. Anyways, we still love it here even with all the rain (no snow!) and not -20C every Feb. as it was, and still is, in Toronto.

Getting ready for our group trip to southern Portugal next month. BTW, I’m sure you’ve heard about Yann Martel’s new book ‘High Mountains of Portugal’. This will be a must-read for us for us even though it may not have much to do with Portugal? Loved the Tiger book. Let Jeremy borrow our limo to go to Oregon with his partner to a seed conference. He’s changing his direction a bit from an organic farmer. Marnie still with us in the business.

Say hi to Corrine! Charlie PS We’re thinking of a long stay next winter in Thailand. Is this of any interest? Stay tuned for more info.

Hi Champagne! Always nice to be missed! Mutual, I'm sure! (Identify speaker and film!) Portugal sounds wonderful. One near the top of our list. Funnily enough, I heard part of an interview with him, by Shelagh Rogers, this afternoon. Glad things go well for both Jeremy and Marne. Thailand is of definite interest to us as we'd also like to travel in Viet Nam and Cambodia, so please let us know what you have in mind when you know more. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Raymondo! Trust you and Sylvia are both well. How goes the tutoring? After seeing Hail, Ceasar, back home to try soup I'd made in slow cooker and was absolutely delighted. Bit of fire as I used a medium-sized, green Jalapeño pepper, left over from Super Bowl food ingredients, just to see what might happen! A tad too hot for Cora Lee when she tasted it. She asked me if I was inviting some Mexican friends over but I see she ate a large bowl for lunch today! That evening we watched an episode of Father Brown and then one of Anzac Girls. Had not seen the former. Liked the period piece, as is true for the latter. For a bit more hard-boiled crime, will probably start watching Luther as the series is on Netflix.

On Thursday, when I was out splitting wood, one of the neighbours from the small apartment block next door came over to say that she had noticed some flames coming out of our chimney the night before. Thanking her, I made an appointment to have a chimney cleaner come over to take a look, instead of donning my Richmond Firefighter's T-shirt and dealing with problem myself! Chap came this morning and cleaned the chimney. As far as he could tell, nothing was amiss, so quite relieved that this is the case, of course. Hard for him to tell/say what might have accounted for flames. Anyway, will have him back at the end of May to take another look just to be on the safe side. Must away as Lady Dar is complaining loudly from  the couch, in the Rumpus Room, watching drivel on TV! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pic:

Hi Patrick and Corinne, Happy Valentine’s Day!, Had a lovely few days in Calgary with Sally and Joel who made us feel very welcome.

Just arrived home this morning and had a wonderful surprise as Mark brought the girls down to the airport to meet us, they jumped on us as we arrived and we had lots of hugs. We had coffee at their place then he drove us home. Started the unpacking when I rang Don to let him know that we were home and he and Anne came round to see us and gave us the awful news that he had found a small lump in his breast, it was diagnosed as Cancer so on Friday he went in and had a mastectomy!

Out on the next day and he looks as good as gold. Tuesday will see him back to the doctor for the next step, I will keep you informed. Now to finish unpacking and put everything away. Lots of love Tina

Hi TNT! Delighted to hear your return went smoothly and you had such a warm welcome. However, distressed to learn about Don's diagnosis and surgery, of course, although, by all accounts he is doing very well. Please pass along our very best wishes for a full and speedy full recovery, to both him annd Anne and family.
Still pretty busy, on the Home Front, even with Clarisse and Dusty to keep us on our toes. Thanks so much for the Valentine's package, Teens. I can hardly wait to open it! I didn't discover it until about three or four days after you left as I simply didn't seem to have time to work in my office. Was using island in kitchen. Anyway, thanks again, in advance, and Happy Valentine's Day to you, pet, (As Vera would say!), and your Goils! Cheers, Patrizzio!
