Flatlander Snow Melt Icicle Eavestrough Blues: Wednesday, January 6th!

Sometime they'll give a war and nobody will come. -Carl Sandburg, poet and biographer (6 Jan 1878-1967)

He who does not bellow the truth when he knows the truth makes himself the accomplice of liars and forgers. -Charles Peguy, poet and essayist (7 Jan 1873-1914)

I follow your facebook and emails assiduously and with quite a bit of jealousy (though driving home in a blizzard is not something I'd want to do; I did once in Ontario and got lost in a rural suburb with no one and nothing visible through the snow. Obviously I survived but never again!) India sounded amazing. All best for 2016. Hope to see you sometime soon. Lynn

Hi Patrick, Wow! Thanks for the play by play description. It was a great morning! In response to your question, we both prefer people sending emails to our Telus address. Thanks, Marian

Patrizzio, thank you for the beautiful description of this years first Boot hike. I throughly enjoyed reading it and I was almost there with you. I so badly Miss those outings but am so excited to be joining you folks soon. I can hardly wait. Again thank you Patrizzio!! I love hearing from you folks. Hugs

Dear Richard, thank you for your e mail. Yes, by all means pass our contact details to your colleagues and we will contact them if the need arises. The Bays pond is coping fine at present. We will keep an eye on water levels. Happy New Year! Kind regards, Roger & Sue. PS. I believe Roger has spoken to Simon this afternoon. Sorry you had to phone us - I wrote this reply but forgot to press send this morning!!

Fantastic photos!  I will get organized and send you a few soon.  Have just finished laundry and a number of other tasks that needed attention.  Now I have to get to bed.  Hoping there isn’t too much snow tomorrow as I have to go to Merritt at Noon.  I don’t have a doctor in Kamloops anymore so I have to go to Merritt to see a doctor now.  Too many migraine headaches these days and am now taking an medication daily to help keep them under control.  Seems to be helping so it is nice not to be in so much pain.

We are looking forward to Trevor’s arrival this Friday. Hoping to see him at Noon Saturday and ski a few runs with him. Might be lucky to see the rest of the family at the airport when they arrive at 5:30pm on Sunday :) They will have such a nice time while they are here.

Sounds like Tina is planning to see you during the last week of January after everyone heads home. We will be going to Sun Peaks on the evening of January 29 and ski the 30th. Will come back to Kamloops later in the day on the 30th as the boys will have hockey on Sunday morning. We are home on Sunday. Boys have swimming lessons at 5pm and I am usually getting groceries and doing the weekly turn around dance :)

Looking forward to a visit if Tina’s plans work it out. Weekdays are tricky. Feb.1st we have a staff meeting and then it is Beavers, Tuesday is Guitar and Piano lessons, Wednesday I normally have a School Based Team meeting until 4pm, Thursday I am free but the boys have hockey on Thursday or Friday after school. Then it is back to Sun Peaks :)

Feb.6/7 might be a trip to Vancouver with the Beaver group if there are enough leaders available. Will find out about that later this week. Busy times :) So glad that you are still keeping in touch with so many people! Would love to catch up with Pete and his wife this summer. Happy New Year to you Corrinne and Chloe :) Your home looks beautiful! Take care, Ariane

Gentlemen, Here are the official audited results from the Lynn Valley Spectacular Based on Matchpoints Thank you David for the fine meal and hosting in your new pad Cheers Byron

A fine start to the New Year in all ways. Thank you David, and in particular for the wee dram at the end of the evening; most enjoyable. I was going to offer to host this Monday, but I look like being back at work. Apologies, Roger

I'm not available next Monday either. Cousin visiting overnight from Auckland. Clive  Patrick Happy New Year. hope to see you up there some time Cheers byron

Sorry you can’t make it Dad, but with all that snow removal, you can’t afford the time away!!! Love you, ChloĆ«

Next Monday Paul Kennedy will lead us on a hike in or near Kaleden. We will meet him at the Library, "The library which is attached to the Community Hall is on the corner of Linden and Lakehill. The library parking is on Linden
Lakehill is the main road coming into Kaleden from the highway. It takes about 10minutes from Home Hardware so I assume the group will arrive at about 9:15? We will drive to another location from there to start the hike." So we will leave Home Hardware in Penticton at 9 am, and Summerlanders can carpool at IGA at 8:40 am. See you then!
