OK Hi Patrick and everyone else; I just spoke with Marian and Tim and we are all still meeting at their place. Some people aren't checking their email so don't want to be in two places! See you soon. Pam

Hi Paolo! Wonderful that you and Joan will be able to join us at Anniversary Bash! In fact, Lady Dar will be at Dram as well! Will be a busy time as we driving into Vancouver on May 12th to spend the night, in luxury, sheer luxury at the Inn at the Quay, "New Westminster's most intimate luxe riverfront hotel"! Lady Dar bid on this at Chloë's last Aunt Leah's fund raiser, last October. Friday, (and Saturday), night we will be staying with Sarge, at The Heartbreak Terrace, (Flamin' is at a reunion in Calgary.), and we'll probably have a bit of a gathering beforehand to make sure we have something in our tummies before slurping malt! If you and Joan haven't yet made arrangements before tasting evening you are more than welcome to join us before heading to Hycroft. Let me know and we'll plan accordingly.

On Saturday, as you know, anniversary shenanigans take place and we are planning to have dinner with Chloë somewhere, afterwards. I'd like to go to Bistro Wagon Rouge, just a block or two away from Chloë's place, so we can walk. Again, you are welcome to join us as it will be pretty informal. Sunday we will probably be off by 11:00 am as we have a very busy long-weekend of demanding Freeloaders, starting on Thursday! Flamin' and Sarge, in fact, en route to Osoyoos for a gathering of Clan Sutherland over the following three days, at Spirit Ridge where they own a "fractional condo", aka timeshare!

Next couple, Judith Neamtan and husband, Ron, on Friday, sometime that afternoon, followed by friends, Zoe and Matt, leaving Vancouver after work so they won't be here until reasonably late. Judith and Ron will only be here overnight but Z/M will stay for weekend. Have just booked a barrel-tasting, at  Black Widow, for 10:00 am on Sunday, May 22nd, so it will be quite a weekend!

Must away as I'm off hiking shortly, the so-called Fur Brigade Trail, out of Peachland, with a number of other friends from the hiking group I've joined here. Yesterday afternoon we were at a release tasting at SummerGate, in Summerland, with some of same friends who will be on hike today. Earlier, Lady Darjeeling and I strolled the Farmer's Market and had a blast visiting with many of the vendors we've come to know and tasting gin and wine! If your schedule allows you might wish to stay with us for a number of days so that you too can enjoy the FM as well. Just a suggestion but think about it. As you mention, we can chat about possible dates when in Vancouver. Fondestos from Lady Dar to you and Joan. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Sip and Savor at Pentâge Winery last Saturday; Grant Stevely of Dubh Glas Distillery out of  Gallagher Lake, making a G 'n T; Dylan Roche ouring his own wine, Roche WInes, He is the winemaker at Intersection, just south of Oliver, not far from Tinhorn! Lady Dar with owner of Balsamic Bliss, infused concoctions featuring local garlic, Habanero and the like. SummerGate gang, Jos, Michaelo, Aarturo, Mariolla, Anne; first harvest from our small, raised vegetable garden in front yard!

This all sounds good Patrick. We will be dining with a group (5?) at Luke's before the Dram: http://www.lukescornerbar.com/

It is what it is but it does have the advantage of proximity to Hycroft. I'll pin down how many we are and look into a reservation. Let me know how things are shaping up at your end and we can discuss coordination. Dinner after the Wall St party would also be good if we are not either intruding unduly on an intimate family gathering or increasing the numbers to the point of unwieldiness. To be discussed. It will be good to see you both and catch up. Cheers....Paul
We will go to IGA just case some are coming there. Then you can pick us up there on your way from Marian & Tim. Cheers, Aart & Jos Mariola and I we will go with our neighbors right from our houses, so see you out there. Thanks Mike

Dearest Host Parentos How are you both doing? I'm currently in Baños, Ecuador and the whole journey has been amazing so far. We already had so many beautiful impressions and have made some memories for a lifetime:)

So I'm still planning on coming to Vancouver in July even though my plans have slightly changed... I'll fly to Vancouver on the 2nd of July and I would love to come visit you if you have time? I've planned to stay until the 11th of July then I'm heading to Sydney... :) but that'sanother story I'm happy to share with you soon. So please let me know, if you'll be available. I miss you two. Talk to you soon, maybe even over Skype? Fondestos, Cruel Host Daughter

Hello Cruel Host Daughter! Grand travels indeed! Bravo! Onward!!! Just a short note to say that we'd be delighted to have you visit anytime between July 2nd and 11th, as your busy travel schedule allows. We will be back from Manitoba at the end of June, getting the place ready for you!  You should be in touch with Chloë and Nicole/Sarge/Flamin', to see if any of them might be coming up to the Okanagan around the time that you would like to visit. I'm sure you could hitch a ride with anyone who is coming up. We leave for Vancouver this coming Thursday morning and will see Chloë and Sarge for sure so we'll ask about their plans for this period.

On Saturday, anniversary, (Our 40th wedding anniversary that day!) shenanigans take place at Chloë's place, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, drinks and hors d'oeuvres, and afterwards we are planning to have dinner with Chloë somewhere. Must away as I've scads of things to do. We are hosting a bridge party tomorrow, landscaping and painting the fence, at least that is what Lady Dar will be doing while I go cycling with a number of other friends, (all female!), from the hiking group! Travel safely and let us know what you think you'd like to do. Fondestos from Mme Coriandre, on the phone to Catherine, in Vancouver, about our coming anniversary party. Cheers, Patrizzio, Best Cruel Host Father in the World! Pic: Fur Brigade hike this Sunday!

Hi Patrick; I won't be riding with you tomorrow.... I really enjoy our coffee breaks after hiking so I'm going to stay. We'll probably go to The Beanery....... cheers, Pam

Dear Patrick & Corinne, How exciting to hear you will be celebrating your 40th Anniversary!  Congratulations!

I know everything you plan for this special event will be exceptional & surrounded by your close friends. We would like to be there but somehow we cannot find ourselves leaving our island, John’s Close friend from Wpg., a friend since high schools will be coming this weekend .
Jim & Dianne Wood who visit every year as their daughter lives up island so we will be spending time with them.

I have been busy planning a huge party in Wpg. for my Mom’s 100th Birthday Party Dec. 3rd. I have rented the Ukrainian hall on Pritchard & McGregor, hired the caterers to serve a Turkey dinner to some 100 guests.  Hired the Senior Ukrainian dance ensemble, the Junior
Dance group and the Ukrainian Women’s choir. My Mom choose the songs she wants sung, too. As the five siblings sing in Ukrainian I am working on having us sing on stage to our Mom. My cousin Sandra a Mezzo Soprano Opera singer will be coming too to sing.

I am responsible for booking all the flights, booking the rooms at the Inn on the Forks, getting The invitation designed and printed and then tracking down all Moms’ friends from the hall. So you can see she would be quite excited!  She still has no signs of dementia and goes to her Club three times a week for her exercise.  I am so happy that I can do this for her, all of her Great Grandchildren will be there.

Today we visited all the gardens for the Conservatory of Music’s annual Mother’s Day garden tour and The Abkhazi Gardens build by The Prince and Princess Nicholas Abkhazi who created one of Victoria;s
most beloved and world-renowned gardens is stunningly beautiful.

Yesterday we had Dim Sum with Loretta & Barry who you have met.  Loretta has had one hip replacement And soon to have another, she is not well.  Barry on the other hand is extremely active and belongs to
Many groups.  I am going to join lawn bowling with him to see if I like it.  He also teaches Mah Jong & Tai Chi At the Senior center so I might join.

Last week we had dinner with our friends Ludmilla & John and they introduced us to their longtime friend Joe Egoyan Father to  Atom Egoyan the director who is Armenian & born in Egypt.  Joe was such a joyful man full of Interesting stories that I promised I will have him over for dinner in the summer.

A few days ago we saw a play at the Belfry, ‘Putting on the Ritz’ it was an excellent musical and in November There will be a musical with Joni Mitchell’s songs so that should be good.

I have just finished another major rock project with the help from Anthony, my 65 yr. old Dutch gardener who has The energy of a twenty yr. old. Hopefully this is the last but I always say that, I do love my rocks.  John’s lawn is his Pride & Joy & it is coming along beautifully this year as he has over seeded to achieve a very lush rich lawn,
he is quite excited with his achievement,

We are going away tomorrow for four days on the boat, the Captain says it is time & we are packed and ready. Will be home on the weekend to greet the Woods. John said that your calendar is full and that you will not be visiting this year. Try to fit us in next Summer and we will take you out on the boat, you will love it. Love to you both Hugs, Jean & John
