Black Widow Barrel-Tasting Blue" Sunday, May 22nd!!

Language is as real, as tangible, in our lives as streets, pipelines, telephone switchboards, microwaves, radioactivity, cloning laboratories, nuclear power stations. -Adrienne Rich, writer (1929-2012)

Up at 7:45 am to creep into kitchen so as not awake our slumbering guests, Zoe and Matt, exhausted after the bridge lessons we gave them laster evening!

Dear Far-Flung Bridge Folk! I trust everyone is enjoying the long-weekend and making ready to either celebrate or boycott, (depending on your take on the statutory holiday), Victoria's birthday, in more than boisterous abandon, domani! At any rate, this missive is to alert those interested that Five Clubs Chatterbox and No Bid Phil have offered to host bridge, this coming Tuesday, at Il Palazzo di Robson, anytime after 6:30 pm. Same drill, no dinner just wild bidding! Please let me know if you are able to attend and I'll send along the address if you don't already know how to find their home. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrick, thanks for the info. Count me in please. Cheers. Mike Great! Looks like you have a foursome! I won't be joining you this time..... Pam

Hello May Long Weekenders and Other General Layabouts! Just a quick note to thank Back-on-the-Throne Tinka for another marvellous, marvellous trek. The adverse conditions, (rain, mosquitoes, dead-fall), couldn't have made him happier nor his "sheep" more uncomfortable. Nonetheless, I must admit, however grudgingly, that I wouldn't have missed it for anything. I'm sure I speak for everyone else, although Josinta may well have more to say about this! Until then, the rant continues, below, if the rain is keeping you inside, and you need an excuse not to do any household chores! Cheers, Patrizzio! Field Report: Helipad Hike, May 19th, 2016.

Nice words, nice pics, beautiful flowers, lots of smiles, and a little pain. Thanks Patrick, and as you know already no bridge for me this week, we will be off early tomorrow morning. Forgot Corinne's glasses on Thursday, but will not loose them. We'll see you soon after we get back, and tell Corinne I started my first knitting project to keep me warm on cold days like this. Cheers, Jos

-return and have coffee and debriefing at a location to be decided.

-limit will be 10 people (first 10 to let me know)

-I cannot say for certain how difficult the hike will be, as I have never been to the summit of Laidlaw by this route.

-contact be by return email me if you wish to join us.

We ask this of folks in either group…Please be respectful of your fellow hikers and keep the chatting to an acceptable level.  Most folks would rather listen to the wonders of nature! Cheers, Jim

Hi Big Bad Al! I'd like to join the Thursday hike if there is still room. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio! Great You are in. See you on Th. Al

Hi Patrick, I don't know if Corinne received this info or not, so here it is - the "how to" on sending Granfondo donations to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. My apologies, if you have already received this. Cheers, Marian

Hi Sydney – we are having an event in Penticton this summer where some people will be wanting to donate online. Is there a link that we can give to people when they want to do this? I understand that the Stride To Turn The Tide Walk uses an online donation tool and I’m hoping that we can have our folks use that or a similar one for the bike riding event that is happening in our town this summer. Thanks very much – Susan Brown

Hi Susan, Absolutely! We have a set of fundraising pages that would be great for your bike riding event – in fact, other groups across the country use them for their cycle tours, too.

To set up a team and your individual fundraising pages, you can visit: www.grandmotherscampaignpledges.ca <http://www.grandmotherscampaignpledges.ca/>

We’ve made a guide to help you in setting up your pages, which I’ve attached here. I hope that it’s helpful, but if you have any questions, need some help, or want me to walk through the process with you while you’re on the phone, I’m more than happy to do that! I hope that helps, Susan :) Warmly, Sydney Oastler, Grandmothers Campaign Officer
