Up at just before 8:00 am to make my way into kitchen. While my mug of java milk was being zapped I loaded the dishwasher with last night's pots and glasses, Etta and Duke waiting patiently, underfoot, to be fed. A few minutes later Chloë appeared and she  prepared their bowls as I'm not supposed to bend down, to such an extent, to pick up their dishes. As soon as they had been presented with their crunchies and eaten some of them I asked Chloë to open the patio door and they have been dashing in and out ever since!

This morning we spent a couple of hours at the Farmers' Market. Pumpkin and squash and other fall vegetables, with their vibrant colours and textures, were simply stunning and a feast for the eye even before they reach the table. Back home to wait for friends, Josinta and Aarturo to arrive as we were all going to Orofino, in Keremeos, at 1:00 for a vertical tasting; three flights, Riesling, (6 vintages), Pinot Noir and Beleza, (5 vintages each), their signature blend so we were well lubricated by the end of the event. Fortunately, a wonderful array of charcuterie and artisanal bread to sop up the fabulous hootch!

Stopped off at Clos du Soleil, just down the road, on way home, as I wanted to pick up a few bottles of their Celestiale for friend in Vancouver. I'm putting a case together and wanted something from the Similkameen. Didn't return to Burns Street until close to 5:00 pm so Chloë was worried about us! Lady Dar's delish pizza for dinner while we watched John Turtillo in The Night Of. Really enjoyed it and now would like to watch Criminal Justice, the BBC series on which it was based.
