Day 22, Post-Op Feral Feline Patio Blues: Thursday, October 6th!

It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy. -George H. Lorimer, editor (6 Oct 1867-1937)

Ugh...beets! Ayn!
First tomatoes, then beets! Takes time but you will come to love them!

OFFICIALLY GRANDPARENTs: Hi Guys, Just a bit of news we are officially grandparents my daughter Lynda popped out a baby girl yesterday 6 pounds and healthy so all good.  Genevieve Caitlyn. Will send a photo when I actually get around to taking one, not real good at that stuff. Cheers from Greg and Claire

Hello Official Grandparents! Congratulations, indeed, on the birth of Genevieve Caitlyn! Hip Hip Hooray! Trust you are both well! Really must apologize for not being in touch sooner. No excuses but plenty of reasons! Main one being that I underwent a left-hip replacement on September 14th!

Lady Dar is busy preparing 25 lbs of beets for pickling, as I scribe, so we''ll have supplies enough if we get snowed in this winter! Beets and red wine should see us through until everthing melts. Speaking of wine, off to Orofino, one of our wine clubs, on Saturday with Josinta and Aarturo. If weather cooperates we plan to have a picnic somewhere between here and Keremeos.

May well not happen as forecast is for a rainy weekend. If this is the case, we'll have a bite here as event will be a tasting rather than pizza pick-up party. Should be fun in any event. Loads of other barrel tastings on The Bench so plenty to do. Probably take a few of them in on Sunday as I'm, working on putting together a case for Steve, friend/Service Manager at Coastal Ford who is now taking care of Chloë! Probably put some of Sutherland's Orofino in his package as we are picking up their release as well!

Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you both. Continue to enjoy your wonderful, brand new granddaughter! Cheers, Patrizzio! Congrats. Grandparenting is fun. Wayne We are having a dinner at our place on Sunday and going to Jennifer Connors on Monday. Give Clare our best wishes the next time you talk to her.

Hello Famiglia Coffaro! Trust all goes well with you and harvest. Is it over? Still on here in The Okanagan. Still waiting for you to knock on our door. Did you visit Banff? Fondestos from Lady Dar to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Mr Grizzle! Trust you are well!  Fondestos from Lady Dar, to you and Janice. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Zircon! Are you settled in? Thanks for new address. Mother Project is still on, as far as I know, but a bit of a holding pattern at the moment. Fondestos from Lady Dar and Happy Thanksgiving to you, James, and family. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Grand Banks Rendezvous People!! Trust all goes well with you and that summer/fall cruising went as planned. Fondestos from Lady Dar and Happy Thanksgiving to you, my Darling Jean, and Big Bad John. Cheers, Patrizzio! Hello Little Evita and The Imperiales! Trust all goes well with you and that summer went as planned. Happy Thanksgiving to you, my Darling Yda, and Big Bad Arnold! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Peachland! Trust you are both well. Thanks again, so much, Mr Fixit, for all your help with vacuum. Cheque's in the mail! Fondestos to you both from Beet Woman! Happy Thanksgiving and all the best. Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Cheap labour and union reps!

About mid-morning, after Lady Dar had left to have her hair coiffed, I noticed that Roman, neighbour's cat was at teh back of the patio. Both Duke and Etta had seen him, last week, when Lady Dar was working in the front yard. They were on leashes then but today they were free to go as close as they wanted or he would allow. Miss Etta kept her distance but Rambunctious Boy took to jumping on the end of Roman's leash, (Amanada leaves it on him when he is outside as she claims it is easier to find him when he hides!), whenever he moved. Quite a game for Duke. Roman didn't seem to mind so pleased that both felines are starting to get to know their surroundings and at least one of the pets hereabouts.

Hello Jo-Anne and Colin! Trust all goes well with you, although from your lovely card and note, which arrived today, I see that you both have experienced certain health problems. I didn't know anything about your heart trouble, Jo-Anne. As well, I'm a tad perplexed about what you term as "Triaged out"?  Does this mean you are on medical leave or have taken early retirement? Do hope that things are on the mend, no matter your employment status. Sorry, as well, to learn of your eye problem, Colin. At least you both seem well enough to travel so Bravo! Great destinations and we are both green with envy!

Really must apologize for not being in touch sooner, especially since we were in town for VFF in July and then again, in August, when I was there for a couple of medical appointments, myself. Fondestos to you both from Beet Woman! We are having our dinner on Sunday. What about you? Happy Thanksgiving and all the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello Lady Patrizzia and Sir James!! Trust all goes well with you two. Happy Thanksgiving dear, dear friends, and all the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Our dinner will be Saturday with the neighbours, will be 10 or 11 of us. I have a new vehicle! Traded my 2013 Hyundai Tucson on a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe so a little bit bigger. For those Costco runs into Ottawa. Rebekah will be home this weekend as well. Patti

Hi Patti, et al! Congratulations on your new vehicle, Trizzia! Nice life that Rebekah enjoys, jet-setting all over the country! Beet Woman is exhausted now, watching The Young and the Useless after her pickling marathon. Left dishes for me, as is her wont! Cheers, Patrizzio, One-Legged Scullion! Pics: No wonder Duke is challenged, having to watch mind-numbing soaps all day! Officiant's latest hair style!

Hi Lynette! Just wanted to thank you again for lovely visit and wonderful lunch. Sorry I wasn't able to go for a bit of a hike or a ride with you on the KVR but next time for sure. Quiet, last few days, but that will change when invasion of The Lower Mainlanders begins tomorrow. As I think we mentioned, our gathering will not be quite as large this year, just Chloë, Katie/Brian/Emma/Luca.

Lady Dar has been busy preparing 25 lbs of beets for pickling, most of day, so
Fondestos to you from Beet Woman! Trust your medical appointments went as well as you expected and Buona Fortuna with house renovations! Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers, Patrizzio!Pics: Overnight stay; Production line for pickled beets and sleepy kittens!
